Kassy Black

History: There was always something a little bit different about Kassandra Black as a child. Her father knew the girl was exceptionally bright and did his best to raise her on his own. His wife died during child birth leaving him to parent their legacy.

Kassy as a child had abnormally colored hair it bordered on a cross between platinum and butter and she had abnormally bright blue eyes.

She was quiet in school and always seemed to be a bit of a day dreamer but despite this kept respectable grades. Sometimes she had hunches about her fellow students so she tended to share with them but quickly stopped when she realized this wasn’t normal. And that the kids singled her out even more as being different and weird.

It wasn’t until her entry into high school that things changed. She had always been a bit different than her fellow peers and had always been picked on in school but the entrance into high school came ritual hazings and with it a higher level of intolerance that she couldn’t imagine.

Kassandra was cornered and held down by a group of students that proceeded to paddle her and ridicule her. The large number of spectators that found this entertaining and laughed and pointed only added to her humiliation. Somewhere in her mind she wished it would stop. She screamed and pleaded for them to stop and strangely they did. In fact the whole crowd did… for several long moments they were frozen in time.
Kassandra passed out and when the effects wore off the children scrambled leaving the unconscious girl to be found in the basement by the custodian.

At first glance he thought the girl to be dead she was so pale. The long and short of it was that Kassandra never went back to public school. She became a bit of a recluse especially after the unknown reason for her skin becoming so pale. The doctors were at a loss of words but other than her pale skin she was healthy and they couldn’t detect any adverse effects. She felt like a freak and stayed home to plunge herself in studies and to really only have social contact with her father and people on the internet.

Perhaps it was the traumatic event but when Kas went to sleep she soon began having nightmares. Unusually accurate and detailed ones from fires to storms to shootings and bombings. It was rare that they were seldom comforting.

In time she noticed that her dreams seemed to come true within a seven day period of having dreamt them but sometimes the prophetic dreams came true as soon as three days or as late as a month.

She began making a journal but didn’t tell her father about it. She continued with her schooling and helping her father with his custodial business.

Kassandra got her GED and once she was 19 took on her own job placements choosing to work solo rather than by her fathers side. She has been for the past 4 years working down at the adult movie theatre as their janitorial staff and usually cleans there 4 days a week during the early mornings. She has met some interesting people working there since all sorts of fellows go into these theatres and has learned a little bit more than the average girl about the seedy side of life in Hamilton.

One day Kas got up for work she ducked into a variety store and humored herself when she recalled the dream she had that morning and picked the lotto numbers from her dream. A week later she checked her ticket and sure enough she had a winner. She had won a million dollars. Sure that wasn’t a huge amount in comparison to some lottos but Kas wasn’t going to complain. She made her way to Toronto to cash in her ticket and it was probably a month later that CSSA showed up at her work place one morning to talk to her. There was speculation on how honest she had come by the money she had won in the lotto. A month later or tests and interviews the CSSA struck up an agreement with her. Accept training and a job placement with their agency and they would let her keep her money. If not the alternative would be imprisonment and have her winnings revoked.
She wasn’t entirely human she was told and that her role in the department would be to use her gifts to help the city.

And that is how Kassandra Black transformed from Jizz moper by day to crime fighter by night.
